Usually, In the Android Groups and Forums One Question is quite familiar from Past few days i.e. “When will Xiaomi officially launch Marshmallow for Redmi Note 3″? or “Will Redmi Note 3 get a Marshmallow update in future”?
So Here is a good news for all Note 3 freaks, Yeah you are thinking exactly What I am going to say. After a long wait, Finally Xiaomi has rolled Official Marshmallow Firmware for their most trending Phone Redmi Note 3.
Just after the launch people are searching the ways to update their device to latest MiUi 220.127.116.11 or Android 6.0.1. So I am writing a full Oficial guide for making update easier to install on your device.
NOTE: Here We are guiding for Official Firmware not discussing Custom Roms.

Stepwise Full Guide to Update Note 3:
- Make sure your phone is charged above 50% before you begin, alternatively you can also keep it plugged in.
- This is just for the non-rooted users.
- Read Full Guide Once then implement each and every step.
- Take Backup of your Data from Internal Storage.

There Are 3 Methods to Update Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Let’s Discuss one by one:
System Update Method:
Step 1: Download the latest Firmware for Redmi Note 3 V18.104.22.168.MHOMIDI (MIUI8)
Step 2: Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and copy the downloaded ROM file into the folder ‘downloaded_rom’ in the internal storage of your device.
Step 3: Launch ‘Updater’ app on your device：
Click the ‘…’ icon at the top-right corner, select ‘Choose update package’, and Select the ROM file you’ve put in ‘downloaded_rom’.
Step 4: After choosing the Right ROM file, your device will begin upgrading. Your device should automatically boot to the new version when the update is completed.
Recovery Update Method:
Step 1: Download the latest Firmware for Redmi Note 3 V22.214.171.124.MHOMIDI (MIUI8) and Rename the downloaded ROM file to ‘update.zip’ on the computer.
Step 2: Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and Copy the ROM file into the root directory of the internal storage of your device. (Do not put it in any folder).
Step 3: Enter the Recovery mode of your device. There are 2 methods to do it as follows:
Method 1: Launch ‘Updater’ app on your device, click the ‘…’ icon at the top-right corner, and select ‘Reboot to Recovery mode’ to enter. (Like in System Update Method)
Method 2: You can also turn off your device and then hold both Volume + button and Power button at the same time to enter Recovery mode.
Step 4: In Recovery mode, you can use Volume +/- to select up/down, and Power button to confirm.
After entering Recovery mode, choose the language you use, select ‘Install update.zip to System’ and confirm, and then your device will begin updating automatically. Wait until the update is completed, choose ‘Reboot to System’, and then your device should boot to the new version.
Fastboot Update Method:
Step 1: Download MIUI ROM Flashing Tool (Size: 31MB).
Step 2: Download Latest Redmi Note 3 Fastboot File Click here
Step 3: Turn off the device. Press the Volume Down key and the Power button at the same time to enter Fastboot mode. Then connect the device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable.
Step 4: Double click on the downloaded ROM file to decompress it. Open the file folder for the decompressed ROM pack, and copy its path on the computer.
Step 5: Install MIUI ROM flashing tool downloaded in Step 1, after completion open MiFlash.exe and paste into the address bar the ROM file folder path copied in the last step.
Click on the first button (circled out in yellow) to Refresh, and MiFlash should automatically recognize the device. Then click the second button (circled out in red) to flash the ROM file to the device.
Step 6: Wait until the progress bar inside MiFlash turns fully green, which means the ROM has been successfully installed. Then your device should automatically boot to the new version.

(After Mi PC Suite is installed, make sure that your phone is in fastboot mode, connect your phone to a computer, and select the correct ROM file to flash)
