Pink is the not a movie; it’s a spank on the patriarchy and double standards of our society. Pink is one of the rarest cinema, which had uplifted the standard of Bollywood and proved that there is also a world for dark off-beat films in India.
From Past few months, I am thinking of a movie which gives us some realistic moments without being exaggerated and adding Melodrama scenes. And yes, Pink is that type of Movie, which directly slaps to the Perverts, mentality of people, and feudal mentality of a majority of India where men and women are judged by different parameters.
NOTE: Pink is not for those males who are over possessed with their “MARDANGI” and impressed by this male-dominating Society.
- A hard-Hitting and Engaging Plotline
- Mindblowing Performances by leads
- Awesome Courtroom Drama
Sorry, No such things exist. Ohh wait, it’s interval. (you wish to start movie soon)
Minal Arora (Taapsee Pannu), Falak Ali (Kirti Kulhari) and Andrea Tariang are independent working girls who share an apartment in Delhi.
On a Rock Concert night in Surajkund Faridabad, the girls meet, three young men and after a misfortune, Minal accidentally hits Rajvir (Angad Bedi) with a bottle above the eye.
This incident leads Rajvir and his friends to harass the three girls further and to get rid of that Minal lodges a police complaint against Rajvir and friends for molestation. But Rajvir uses his influence and charges Minal for an attempt to murder and extortion as a sex worker.
Will Deepak Saigal (Amitabh Bachchan) an advocate be able to fight Minal’s case for justice? Can the law punish Rajvir’s mentality and give society a strong message?
Perfect, Engaging Writing, Thriller at it’s Best and some top-notched Court-Room Scene.
According to me the quality of film totally relies on the writing skills and trust me you can’t complain even on a single scene. Ritesh Shah has done a Phenomenal job with Pen; some scenes are so perfect which can’t be elaborate by words like:
- Falak shouting conversation with Rajvir
- Scene where Minal told her friends that jail stinks of Urine and she feels like Vomit.
- A scene where Minal was drying her undergarments in the balcony while a neighbor stares at the ‘Pink Bra’ with a judgmental look.
- Conversation between Inspector and Minal when she tries to lodge the FIR
Two parts of film I want to discuss which is worth to mention, one is Amitabh elaborating the Safety Modules for women according to the society and in the second one he told everyone that ” No is a No” whether she is your friend, girlfriend, a drunk woman, sex worker or your own wife. “No means simple No.”
Movie is filled with some extraordinary performances in which I like to mention Tapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kirti Kulhari.
Tapsee Pannu has an important and central role in this fight against odd Cinema, and she had done mindblowing act as Meenal Arora. She has tremendous talent which resembles by the facial expression of her throughout the film.
I personally liked one scene when Amitabh asks her “Are You Virgin?” and she replies with a low and numb voice which explain her fear.
Amitabh Bachchan as a lawyer has given a power performance; he is the most suspicious character at the beginning but when he wears that black suits, What a Performance.
Falak and Andrea have delivered an excellent Performance, but I would like to admire specifically Falak’s Mature act in the whole film.
Angad Bedi nails the bad boy act of Rajvir with just his arrogant stare. Good Performance.
Piyush Mishra acted as a lawyer of the opposition who tries to narrate fake stories to protect the boys, and he had done a satisfactory performance.
Aniruddha Roy Chaudhary directed the movie; Pink is debut movie of Director, and he had given one of the best thriller movies of all time.
Sahi Khel Gaya Benchoo
To make plot an engaging one, Director never shows you the actual incident, up until the end credits. Means you are going to believe the facts from Character’s perception, and this is the best part of the movie which makes the film more suspense thriller.
After Watching the film, I am Shocked, Stunned and Speechless because the movie has that much of power which makes you uncomfortable and forces to think about the irony.
Songs went in the background, and which means you can’t miss even a song.
Screenplay and writing are done by Ritesh Shah who deserves many big awards for this storyline.
Background Score has an important part in the film; it acts as a catalyst for the scenes.
Pink is not an easy watch. A film which hard-hit the system, all Stereotypes. Expose narrow-mindedness and gives you homework to think about the related situation.
According to me, this is the best movie of the year till now, I have never watched such an impressive creation on a social issue.
Must watch for everyone in India, maybe this can be an initiate towards change.
