Rating: 2 Star
Star Cast: Sidharth Malhotra, Katrina Kaif, Ram Kapoor, Sarika, Rohan Joshi, Sayani Gupta, Rajit Kapoor
Director: Nitya Mehra
Baar Baar Dekho is a typical complex film which fails to deliver actual context of the story. It is worthless to use time travel to elaborate the goals of life and relationships.
Film starts with a soothing love and romantic type but as time passes movie turns to a complex “What the Fuck” type of Cinema.
This movie only gives you a headache and two messages which you had studies in your Moral Values book at school time.
- A strong message to understand relationships.
- Stunning cast and beautiful locations
- Last 15 minutes of film
- Amateur Screenplay and half-baked writing
- Single expression throughout the film
- A long running time (140 minutes)
Must Read: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Teaser Review
Jai Verma (Sidharth Malhotra) a genius mathematician and Diya Kapoor (Katrina Kaif) a Modern artist are childhood friends or I would say a couple.
When the two are about to tie the knot, Jai starts to feel trapped in their relationship. He starts feeling that the wedding is a huge compromise he is making that will affect his career.
Just then, a time travelling twist comes into the plot and the whole Plot screwed up. What does the future have in store for Jai and Diya?
According to me, Director has found this piece of paper from the dustbin, Yeah it’s a crap. No work on the character, just trying to implement Hollywood stuff and Sci-fi elements, means what are they thinking, Public is “CH**IYA”.
After the movie, you still feel confused that how time travelling worked in this movie whether it is because of a thread, by Pandit or simply by his own dreams.
I can’t understand the logic behind the idea of choosing a complex topic like Time-travel to explain simple things like relationships are more precious than careers, or that the only thing that really matters is the present.
First half is bearable but the second half has ability to make you sleep even if you are an Insomniac.
Quite difficult. It’s too rude if I would leave this tab blank, but as I am Kind hearted person, let’s try to be fair.
Sidharth Malhotra is looking Smart and hot in his small beard looks, but he had not done any work on the acting and expressions. I know the role is quite challenging, and he is not a Perfect actor but still “EK TRY TO BANTA THA.”
Katrina Kaif, as usual, looking adorable and pretty but again this is the only thing we can mention about her. She had not done any homework related to her role, means how a lady who is a mother of two children can looks so young until or unless she is “AKSHARA.” ( please don’t kill me for this sarcasm)
Ram Kapoor as Katrina’s father and a businessman is quite funny and done a good job.
Other actors have also done a decent job but nothing worth to be a mention.
Nitya Mehra tried a brave attempt but due to lack of execution, flaws in writing and loopholes in screenplay made this venture a boring one. I would say that there is no fault of the director in this, she should take a time travel and make these type of movies in future.
I want to mention the excellent work behind the camera, specially Honeymoon scenes (Thailand) were shot beautifully.
Music of the film is good and tries to make you alive from the torture. Movie is full of Background Music whether it is loud or the light ones, I personally liked the instrumental romantic music which is quite pleasant to ears.
Baar Baar Dekho is like a gift packed with glossy paper, and the box is empty from inside. It is 140 minutes of a mess which can give you a severe mental pain.
A big No to this Movie, or if you don’t love your life then surely take a risk.
