ADHM is a film which elaborates that sometimes ‘ Love as a friend ‘ type of relation has more authority then a typical love type bond.
Film explores all the factors of Friendship and Love between two people and trust me most of the people will connect their life to the film. This Romantic tale has a combined ability to make you laugh and cry in the different halves of the movie.
- Karan has beautifully presented the complex relationships of the young generation.
- Ranbir and Anushka’s extraordinary acting.
- Impeccable dialogues to elaborate the situations.
- Film should be 15 minutes less lengthy.
- Sometimes converts into a masala film by few Melodramatic scenes.
Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor) and Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) hook up at a bar in London, they instantly click, and there are sparks flying already.
Alizeh has a deadly past with her long time boyfriend Ali Fawad Khan) breaking her heart, Ayan on the other hand is an emotional wreck at handling any relation.
After the two get close, Ayan falls for Alizeh and is certain that it is love. Then Ali returns to Alizeh’s life and she gets married to him.
A heartbroken Ayan tries to find comfort in the beautiful Sabah (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). The duo doesn’t go a long way because of Ayan’s continued love for Alizeh.

Those who are predicting the storyline of ADHM, here is a Middle Finger for all. I am not saying that story is mindblowing but just explaining that it’s far from prediction and which acts as a USP of the film.
Usually, Story and Dialogues doesn’t sync with each other but in this plot Dialogues are the essence of the movie whether it is General conversation or a Poetic way to explain simple terms.
As a Dharma film, Sometimes you can say that ” Kya Ho Raha Hai ye” when you have to listen some famous dialogues of old SRK films.
One thing I would like to mention that writer should provide a more exposure to Aish Character, it looks like a special appearance which doesn’t make any strong impact on the story.
Ranbir Kapoor has again proved that he is one of the finest actors in Industry. Ranbir has nailed the character, as a lover who has been “Friend Zoned” and now suffering from inside. There are so many layers of a single role which have done by the actor with an excellence.
Anushka Sharma is becoming a mature actress; She has done a phenomenal work as a Bindaas Girl, a Broken lover, and a Mature friend. Anushka is one of the assets for the film due to which Ranbir’s act became more powerful.
Aishwarya Rai is a Sexy divorced Poetess in the film; her Urdu Shayari has a deep meaning, and by her words, Our Hero narrates a song and explore his passion.
But still why Aish is in the film, for a glamor ( damn hot), for Some flirty lines, to show Tharak of a divorced woman or to give the last moment speech on Love. Fuck the reasons; She is looking damn sexy and Bold in the movie.
Beware Girls Fawad Khan is too hot to handle, he has a special appearance, and he had performed his part with a conviction.
SRK has a guest appearance and delivers the most powerful line of the whole movie.
I personally hate Karan’s direction or the way he/she present Love stories But trust me this is something like a Non-Karan film with some K-Jo’s element which can be ignored easily.
Karan has worked hard to make this complex battle of “Friends vs Love” possible. The Dialogues are excellent which surely impresses you if you had ever fallen in love.
The London and Lucknow both are superb and cameraman has shot the scenes intelligently to describe the insights of Location and characters.
Music is Outstanding; every song will make you sing with its running time. But the emotion in “Channa Mereya” will make you senti because of the dark intensity of the moment.
The collaboration of Retro songs also gives a refreshment specially Lag jaa Gale and Aaj Jaane ki Zid Naa Karo.
ADHM is surely not a traditional Dharma Love story; it follows an idea or a message that Sometimes “Friendzone” is a better place as compared to the “Pyar-Vyar.”
Beautifully executed Relationship Saga which could be a better film by trimming few irrelevant scenes. Overall ADHM is a great watch, Go Watch and Understand the Relations from Different Perspective.
And Last but not the Least, “Ek Ladka Ladki Dost Ho Sakte Hai.”
